Principle Function
The Minister to Preschool and Children will plan, organize, budget, implement, manage, monitor and control ministries and programs pertaining to the Preschool and Children’s ministries and work with Church staff and members to achieve the objectives of the Church.

Qualifications:
• Express evidence of receiving a call to the Preschool and Children’s ministries of the church.
• Possess significant knowledge and skill level to complete all areas of the Principle Function.
• Be in agreement with basic historic Baptist beliefs.
• Exhibit conduct in the church and the community that does not reflect poorly on the Lord or the church.
• Model a “servant’ approach to leadership, acknowledging the priesthood of all believers.
• Demonstrate a consistent, growing walk with the Lord through personal Bible study and prayer.
• Display the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Education:
• Required: Bachelor’s Degree
• Preferred: Master’s Degree

Experience:
• Five years of leading Preschool and Children’s ministries
• OR Master’s Degree pertaining to Childhood Education

Responsibilities:
• Provide resources and evaluate programs for all ministries and services provided to infants and children from birth through fifth grade.
• Promote Preschool and Children’s ministries throughout the church and encourage inter-generational connections.
• Plan, administer and implement annual family events (i.e. Fall Festival, VBS, Eggstravaganza).
• Establish and maintain clear lines of communication with parents and guardians.
• Recruit staff and train workers.
• Secure appropriate background checks and clearances of anyone working with children.
• Develop an annual budget proposal for ministry areas pertaining to Childhood Education.
• Supervise the Director of CDO/Preschool.
• Supervise paid Childcare workers and volunteers.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Insure that safety and procedure policies are current and implemented correctly.
• Coordinate with the Church Business Administrator to meet ministry needs in the area of building usage and equipment.
• Cooperate with the Church Business Administrator and assist with promoting good stewardship and proper care of all church facilities.
• Serve as the Staff Liaison to assigned committees, teams and groups.
• Partner with the Minister to Students to align services that will be beneficial to all families.
• Attend required educational, leadership and ministry equipping seminars and conferences.
• Serve on the Church Advisory Council.
• Embrace and abide by all operating policies adopted by the church.
• Participate in weekly hospital visitation when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Tasks:
• Manage/direct incoming calls
• Maintain church membership/prospect data base in Shelby
• Maintain/update official church calendar
• Coordinate with the Church Business Administrator on building usage
• Maintain Bible Study Class attendance/rolls in Shelby
• Oversee postage meter operation/bulk mail account
• Oversee operation of workroom/copy machines
• Coordinate office volunteers
• Maintain adequate supply of all office supplies and materials
• Prepare packet for monthly Church Conference meetings
• Prepare agenda and appropriate reports for weekly staff meetings
• Notify committee members of meetings as requested.
• Order and distribute all Bible Study material
• Create and distribute Sunday morning Bus Driver schedule
• Update website with current church activities
• Coordinate Senior Pastor’s calendar and appointments
• Update Memorial Board
