As we continue into 2017, here are some updates and projections from some of our Hispanic congregations in Denton Baptist Association.
Mustang Hispanic, Pilot Point:
- Inherited FBC Lewisville’s choir and orchestra robes. They are strategizing the growth of the music ministry and sharing this good resource with other Hispanic Baptist congregations around them.
- Started an emphasis on prayer as its foundational ministry, as well as evangelism through the Sunday School ministry.
- Preparing for a new parking lot on the plot of land adjacent to the worship center, as well as a new facade for the main building.
Life Fellowship, Denton:
- Preparing leaders to start home groups as a new outreach ministry.
- Continuing a church planting partnership with San Diego Baptist Association in the Mexican city of Tijuana this summer.
- Continuing outreach to Ashli Oaks Trailer Park on Saturdays.
- Continuing after-school Bible Club at Woodrow Wilson Elementary, Denton.
El Reino de Dios, Sanger:
- Continuing to refurbish its new church campus in Bolivar.
- Planning local evangelistic short-term projects this year in partnership with a sister church in Spain.
El Camino, Lewisville:
- Planning various activities each weekend in February for a month-long outreach emphasis on the family, including sermons by guest pastors, a couple’s banquet, a talent show, a youth rally and a music concert.
- Will sponsor a regional Woman’s Conference in September or October.
- Is prayerfully considering beginning a worship service in English for 2nd and 3rd generation Hispanics in the Lewisville area.
Casa ADOBES, Denton:
- Continuing to grow through off-campus groups.
