A New Partnership

God is providing a ministry based in Frisco to aid our Hispanic church plant in Little Elm with resources to minister to its community.  Iglesia Remanso de Gracia (“Tranquil Waters of Grace”) meets next to the unincorporated community of Hill Town in Oak Point, which is heavily populated with Hispanics.

Stonebriar Community Church has for several years operated an after-school program at the elementary school next to Hill Town and a feeding program for children during the summer months.  Through contacts with Morgan Malone, their new Missions Pastor Keith Tyler put Stonebriar’s missional team in touch with our association to see how both can team together to provide Gospel conversation opportunities in Spanish to the community.

In late February, Keith and the leaders of the outreach team met with Pastor Misael Rivera, members of his church, Morgan and myself in one of the homes in Hill Town to pray and explore how a partnership could generate more contacts and ministry with the families in Hill Town.

As a result, Iglesia Remanso de Gracia will begin partnering with Stonebriar in the distribution of a daily lunch at Hill Town during Spring Break; leading an open-air Friday Easter service; working toward a Vacation Bible School this summer, and participating in food distributions during school vacations.

The meeting ended in a sweet time of prayer and commitment. Everyone holds an expectation of what God will do in the coming months to reach the families of these children with the Gospel.  Please join us in praying for God to expand His kingdom through these efforts!
