Strengthening Churches
DATE POSTED: 05/25/2017  |     |   Category: Shoulder to Shoulder

Growing ministries happen in a variety of ways, and churches find themselves at different points in the process of developing people to lead them. One thing seems certain: most of the time there are not enough ministry team members to call on for the task.

Our Hispanic work is no exception. In order to move forward, our churches need to strengthen, or in some cases begin the process of identifying and preparing folks for ministry.

This year our Association is providing help through training at the Leadership Pipeline. An introduction was given in May to pastors and staff members, and the full workshop will be presented on Wednesday, September 20 from 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM at Southmont Baptist Church, Denton.

We are also exploring a tool in Spanish called The Basic Course in Christian Ministry, offered by the Hispanic Seminary of Dallas Baptist Association. Its main objective is to help each participant grow in their relationship with Christ by providing practical skills in leadership, personhood, and in deepening their biblical and theological understanding. The training would be offered here in our Association.

The curriculum focuses on small group dynamics, Bible study methods, spiritual formation, evangelism & discipleship, basic theology, servant leadership and introductions to the Old and New Testaments.

More information will be coming in the future, so stay tuned!
