Denton Baptist churches are gaining a reputation for being committed to church planting. More and more churches are developing church planters from within their churches. Last month, I shared that most of the brothers in this year’s cohort are not free agents we recruited from outside our churches, but star players developed within our churches.
However, developing a church planter is a years-long process. Have you ever wondered how to begin that process? How do you identify a future leader? How do you develop him into a planter?
The Send Network has developed a workshop called a Sending Lab to help you understand how to become a sending church. One of the great things about Sending Labs is that they are designed to help you develop a pipeline that is unique to you and your church. It is not a cookie-cutter approach. Rather, we want to help you develop planters according to your unique design.
With that in mind, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Send Network is offering a Sending Lab in partnership with the Denton Baptist Association and the Collin and Grayson Baptist Associations. Sending Labs are one-day workshops that walk pastors and ministry leaders through the biblical mandate for planting churches, sharing practical strategies for successful church planting, and helping churches evaluate how God might be calling them to engage. Sending Labs have already transformed churches across the country, and we believe God can use them in Denton County.
