This month I’d like to introduce Josh Clark. He is one of the eight brothers in this year’s church planter cohort. We originally connected with Josh through a Send Network assessment. I had the privilege of being one of his assessors and saw genuine calling and gifts. Josh is married to Amanda and they have two girls. After a career as an executive with HEB, the Lord called the Clarks to plant The Vine Community Church in Buda, Texas. Yes, you read that correctly! We have a planter in our North Texas cohort who is planting outside of Austin. Their sponsor church is The Well Church in San Marcos, Texas. The Lord is doing something special through our church planting efforts if we have the opportunity to partner with a sponsor church in San Marcos to plant a church in Buda.
Through the spring and summer the Clarks hosted a core team in their home and did outreaches in the community. I’m pleased to report that The Vine Community Church successfully launched on September 8. They are meeting in the Onion Creek Senior Center. Pastor Josh is preaching through the gospel of John in a series titled “Come and See.” They have a beautiful vision for both Jesus and Buda. The Vine’s mission is to cultivate a community that is eager to say yes to Jesus. Their mantra is “Buda as in Heaven!”
Redeemer Church was blessed to have Pastor Josh as a guest preacher last February. The Clarks have been special to our church ever since. I am so grateful for the Denton Baptist Association’’s Kingdom mindset. Your support of the DBA is helping spread the gospel all over Texas through the Clarks.
If you would like to learn more about the church you can visit their website HERE. From the website you can also sign up for their newsletter. I also encourage you to follow The Vine through their Facebook page HERE. It is a thrill to see the pictures and videos of baptisms, updates, and worship services. Drop me an email if you or your church would like to find ways to further support The Vine Community Church in Buda, Texas.
