Thailand’s population is approximately 51–57 million people, and it’s not just limited to the country’s borders. Thai communities can also be found in the United States, particularly in the DFW area. Despite being a smaller immigrant group than others in DFW, the influence of Thai culture is significant. Thai cuisine has made a mark throughout DFW, with Thai restaurants dotting the area. Thai people are known for their strong sense of community and willingness to help others, even when it inconveniences them. In the workplace, coworkers readily help without considering it a burden if someone is struggling. Additionally, it’s common for Thai friends to share food and drinks without attaching a strong sense of ownership to these items. Indirect communication is an essential aspect of Thai culture. When someone requires correction, it is done privately to prevent them from experiencing a loss of face, which is deeply ingrained in Thai society. Thailand is home to one of the highest concentrations of Buddhists in the world, and the influence of this religion is deeply intertwined with Thai culture. However, the Thai people also highly value religious freedom and believe in respecting all religions while maintaining that the King should be Thai.

Prayer Points:
