Introducing Aaron Boswell Micah Caswell This month I’d like to introduce Aaron Boswell. He is one of the four brothers in this year’s church planter cohort. We originally connected with Aaron Boswell through his father, Charles Boswell of First Baptist Church of Justin. Aaron is an experienced church planter. Fluent in French, he served as a Church Planter Catalyst with NAMB, focusing on the French-speaking population in Canada. Later, he planted a church in Montreal, then went to Vancouver and planted a second church with NAMB. In 2020, Aaron planted The Trails Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Redeemer Church serves as Aaron’s Sending Church. He is on staff at Redeemer for 12 months as a church planter resident, working with our leaders to not only personally develop as a church planter, but also to help Redeemer build out its residency program — with an eye towards a long-term pipeline and a future partnership with Aaron’s new church plant. Aaron is married to Samantha, and together they have four children: Owen (11), Teo (9), Summer (6), and Sophia (2). The Boswells recently received a “READY” score through the Send Network assessment. They will be planting a church in Aubrey in 2027. When asked about his heart for Aubrey, Aaron says, “We want to see those who are far from Jesus become Christians. We want to plant a place where Christians can be fed and grow in their faith. We want to see the hope of the Gospel change hearts so that they live out their faith in everyday contexts.” The Boswells are beginning to engage their city with the gospel. They are “striving to learn about our area, connect with non-Christians that we can begin sharing our lives and the gospel with,” as they “build a strong foundation for gospel ministry in these brand-new subdivisions.” Aaron explains that he wanted to participate in the DBA cohort because “I wanted to see and experience firsthand the process of how the DBA trained church plants … so that I could see how this process could be used to train future church planters that we are hoping to train at our church.” He also wanted to develop relationships and friendships with other planters. He says that the most beneficial part of the cohort “has been learning from wonderfully qualified leaders in a cohort of other church planters who are able to discuss and process what we are learning together.” I asked Aaron if he would recommend the cohort to other brothers exploring church planting. He said, “Absolutely! Whether you are a seasoned veteran church planter or brand new in walking out this calling in church planting, this cohort is a wonderful opportunity to learn, connect with like-minded brothers, forge friendships in ministry, and grow in your processes and structures.” The Boswells are asking for prayer and financial support as they lay the groundwork for the church plant in Aubrey.
