This month, I’d like to introduce Naveen Kaukuntla. He is one of the five brothers in this year’s church planter cohort. We originally connected with Naveen through Pastor Matthew Harding of The Well Church in Argyle. They will serve as his Sending Church. Naveen is an example of one of our DBA churches generating a church planter. I’m also excited to report that the Kaukuntlas were recently awarded a “READY” score through the Send Network assessment. They will be planting an Indian church in Argyle.
Naveen has been married to Grace for 13 years, and they have one 9-year-old daughter named Keren. Naveen and Grace are both from India. Together, they planted four churches in India before sensing a call to move to America to plant again.
Naveen feels the DBA cohort has deepened his convictions about God and dependence on God. He says, “It has helped me see that church planting is not primarily about strategy or growth, but about faithfulness.” He goes on to explain, “The cohort has sharpened my understanding of evangelism and clarified the weight of shepherding souls.” Naveen recommends the training for anyone sensing God stirring them to church planting. He says, “It shapes your character. It challenges you to think biblically, to lead humbly, and to plant with eternity in view. It prepares you not just to start something new, but to shepherd people well and build something that lasts for generations.”
The Kaukuntlas will be planting a church for Indian families in Argyle. Thousands of Indians are moving to Argyle and the surrounding communities. Naveen shares that his “vision is to see a gospel-centered, Scripture-saturated, prayer-dependent church that makes disciples who make disciples.” He longs to see “families strengthened by the Word of God, children growing up rooted in truth, young professionals living boldly for Christ, and a community marked by humility, hospitality, and unity.” Above all, Naveen is praying that “Jesus would be glorified.”
The Kaukuntlas are asking for your prayers. Naveen asks, “Please pray for continued humility and dependence on God. Pray for wisdom as we take each step forward and for spiritual protection over our family. Pray that our home would remain unified and grounded in Christ. Pray that God would prepare hearts in the community, even now, that He would draw people to Himself and raise up a faithful core team. And pray that through every season, we would walk in joy, endurance, and unwavering trust in His calling.” Feel free to contact Naveen (naveen@thewellargyle.com) if you would like to join his prayer team or contribute financially to the church plant.
