Minister of Children and Preschool
Job Description – First Baptist Church, Corinth, Texas

Basic Function: The minister of children and preschool is responsible for leading and implementing a comprehensive program of children’s ministry (infants through 6th grade) that will encourage children and their families in areas of spiritual development, personal ministry, family enrichment, and life skills.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Related to Ministry
- Recruit, train and guide children’s and preschool volunteers and part-time ministry staff.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate programs, camps, and activities associated with the Children and Preschool areas including, but not limited to: Sunday School, Children’s Worship, Preteen Camp, Fall Festival, Vacation Bible School, Kid’s Choir, Kids Day Out, American Heritage Girls and Operation Christmas Child.
- Work closely with the leaders of Upward sports programs to enhance the outreach effectiveness of those programs.
- Lead and encourage volunteers and part-time ministry staff to participate in a consistent method of outreach.
- Develop relationships with families of children and assist in identifying ministry needs.
- Serve as the staff liaison to standing and special committees involved in services and ministries to children and preschool participants.
- KDO directors will report to the Minister of Children and Preschool.
- Participate and promote local community events: Back to School Fair, Turkey Drive, Community Christmas Program, Angel Trees, Operation Christmas Child
- Communicate with parents and congregation about children’s events
- Advocating for the children: asking for scholarships for camp, donations for VBS, sit in on parent meetings as necessary.
- Related to Administration
- Order, distribute and give guidance in the use of curriculum materials in the children and preschool areas.
- Work with appropriate committees to promote the total children and preschool ministry.
- Participate with the appropriate committees in developing an annual operating budget and demonstrate leadership and fiscal responsibility in managing the budget.
- Responsible for the administrative duties associated with the position. E.g. completion of time sheets, staffing for extended session, getting snacks for Sunday School and Wednesday Childcare, sanitation of equipment, record keeping, etc.
- Coordinate calendar and room assignments with other ministry teams.
- Work as a team player and maintain good working relationships with staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the senior pastor.
